Try It Class

Try It Classes are a 1.5 hour class filled with fun and friends. Class enrollment starts at 8 years old and need to be accompanied by an adult until 16 years old.

Class instructions and best practices are listed below!

Cancellations and Refund Policy: *

Due to limited seating, we request that you cancel at least 24 hours before a scheduled class. This gives us the opportunity to attempt to fill the class from a wait-list. You may cancel on the “Reschedule My Ticket Page”. Tickets can be vouchered up until the moment class starts but if you voucher within 24 hours only 70% of the total cost of the purchase will be applied. You may also transfer your ticket to another person. We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule the event. No full refunds will be given.

Try It Classes start at stated time to include a demonstration for all guests. Please arrive early to ensure you may see the full explanation and be able to ask questions if you need. Guests that are more than 15 minutes late will not have the benefit of seeing the demonstration and learning the steps of the process and so will need to be rescheduled. Rescheduling day of incurs a late rescheduling surcharge of 30% of the monies paid.

Try It Classes last 1.5 hours including a demonstration with continued guidance. Each person gets 3 pre-centered pieces of clay to create the pot of their dreams! At the end of the class you get to choose your favorite piece to be glazed and fired but if you love them all – which you will 😉 – additional pieces can be purchased separately to be glazed and fired.

Best Practices:

  • Long Nails – Not always the best for working with clay. We advise finger nails not be longer than the fingertip and recommend not getting acrylic extensions until after your class.
  • Long Hair – Big safety hazard! We ask you bring a hair tie so we can keep it out of the clay and out of a danger zone.
  • Jewelry – Rings, watches, bracelets etc should be taken off before class and stored in a safe place.

We cannot guarantee any final outcome of pottery from classes. Clay can be incredibly unpredictable and things can happen inside the kiln that we can’t foresee. We do our best to mitigate any problems by drying the pieces over a longer period of time and have longer firing times to prevent thermal shock. All of that taken into account the pottery pieces are ready generally within 6-8 weeks.
